Oct 1st 2022

The first two weeks of my Postgraduate study were interesting and exciting. Through furthering my studies, I hope to improve and broaden my skills as a graphic designer, focusing on marketing and branding. Reflecting on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, I will figure out the personal needs I have to achieve to complete my assignments and use them throughout my designs for the best possible UX design.

One of the modules (DM7926) also reintroduces the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), which I completed in the second year of my undergraduate degree. I feel comfortable already with this module and creating an idea for one of the 9 briefs to choose from. However, I still want to push and develop my skills for this project and create a different outcome from my previous project. I have chosen to focus on brief 3 for this module and have started to brainstorm ideas for this both at home alone and also in lectures within a team. I hope to develop my skills within Adobe software while also learning new software that could help me during this project.

I will also create a new app for one module (DM7903). In our first lecture, wireframes were discussed. We were required to create a wireframe for an app, following an already created website. Also, adding extra features to make the UI and UX more user-friendly and personal. For this project, I will first create low-fidelity sketches and work my way to high-fidelity wireframing with a working prototype. I hope to expand my skills within Adobe XD during this project.
